You Have All The Colours That I'll Ever Need

Everyone at the party saw
How I was mesmerized
And all I could blame was
The shifting colour of her eyes

It was bluish-greenish-grey
Sorry, I know not enough shades
It had all the seven flavors
A rainbow across the scale

Like a painter's brush
Her lashes, they did dip
I held my drink tighter
All nervous, took a sip

I slid across the floor
And bombed her with my jokes
And although they were bad
She chose to not ignore

We've been married sixty years
And in my memory, it keeps sifting
That the colour of her eyes
Oh! It never stopped shifting
