Arms on Fire By The Firearms

The flag had turned so green
The colonels were all dead
The politicians did us mean
All around, all red

The boys so wet & dead
Clutching letters, still unread
Their sweethearts are all wondering
What it is that they said

The ammunition survived
To see another day
The children didn't hide
That they wanted to slay

The burning flame began
To spread the lies again
To help the wicked men
And to keep us insane

The stories they tell us
Are the stories they tell you
Its just a way to suppress us
And a means to subdue you

They promised to build
But you've been fooled
They burned down the bridges
And then bombed the schools

And now that you've learned
The craft of the cruel
You'll have your share of fun
And burn up all your fuel

So I lay down at your feet
All our sullen crimes
They say history never repeats
But it sure does rhyme
