Dream My Dream

I once had a dream tremendous
In which the City of Love dreamt of us
All of its parapets and spires
Were refurbished with coy desires
From bistros to Palais Garnier
Time tempts us to be right here
To share a shawl with Alice
As the Moon guards the sleeping Paris
And hear the crunch of the leaves
As the heavens move silently
All our mirth will purl around
Flooding the alleys and the grounds
And if the radiated rain pours
We'll rush behind closed doors
We're both a thought, a feeling, a good-good sign
A supernova exploding in the city's mind
And in the morning, Eiffel will spread
The dust of stars where we can rest
Refreshed, the afternoon bell shall chime
And the crystal pyramid, Louvre will beckon to climb
When blush of evening turns the sky
Our home'll be the Palace of Versailles
Where statues of past aristocrats
Will sing and serve where Antoinette once sat
So, Alice, the plain truth is thus
That City of Love dreams of us
